In the event of a user being required to approach an unprotected fall hazard then the safest form of protection is a work restraint system. A work restraint system uses equipment to prevent the user from being able to approach the hazard and therefore no fall can occur. Once set up the user will become reliant upon the work restraint system, their awareness of hazards will decrease and the importance of the initial assessment becomes apparent.
